India & Purry is a collection of home decor, stationery and accessories by New York City artist Jessica Hollander.
Jessica is a visual artist with a deep reverence for nature and its nuanced beauty. Her collection is derived from her oil and watercolor paintings, using small sections of larger canvases. She considers each of the paintings to be portraits that study and celebrate the unique intricacies of specific trees and flowers. She uses this dialogue to transmit the peaceful, healing energy of nature. The resulting designs bring the charm of the outdoors into everyday life.
I begin with the visual inspiration of a particular flower, seed pod or botanical element.
My process is an engaging dialogue: Each particular work of nature communicates its unique colors, shapes and textures to me.
I consider every painting a meditation that transmits the healing energy that lies within the arresting beauty of nature.
Once I complete the painting, I photograph the canvas and compose the individual renderings into a pattern that complements each product.
With their organic colors and shapes, my finished designs bring joy and serenity to everyday life.
